INFERENSI DAN SILOGISME SESAT SEBAGAI UNSUR PEMICU KELUCUAN DALAM HUMOR CERDAS ALA CAK LONTONG (LIS HARTONO)
Abstract
This study investigates the role of inference and fallacious syllogism as central triggers of humor in the intelligent comedic style of Cak Lontong (Lis Hartono). His humor is marked by logical manipulation, misdirected reasoning, and the disruption of audience expectations, producing a distinctive comedic effect. The purpose of this research is to identify the forms of inference and syllogism embedded in Cak Lontong’s humorous utterances and to explain how these logical mechanisms generate humor.
Using a descriptive qualitative method, this study analyzes data derived from YouTube recordings of Cak Lontong’s performances and textual humor compilations from simomot.com. Data were collected through observation, transcription, and classification, then examined using pragmatic analysis, inferential analysis, and the study of syllogistic structures.
The findings reveal that humor in Cak Lontong’s discourse arises primarily from three mechanisms: (1) discrepancies between audience expectations and alternative inferences intentionally constructed by Cak Lontong; (2) the use of fallacious syllogisms, including invalid categorical forms, equal-premise patterns, and deliberately distorted deductive sequences; and (3) semantic reversals through implicature, bisociation, and violations of logical and contextual norms. These mechanisms create incongruity that produces surprise and strengthens punchlines. The study also identifies variations in his humor discourse patterns, such as introduction–setup–punch and setup–punch structures.
In conclusion, inference and fallacious syllogisms function as key devices through which Cak Lontong constructs intelligent humor, guiding audiences toward flawed yet amusing reasoning paths.
